Russ
Laurence
The
star of the show. The main man himself, Russ Laurence
has been a well respected and much loved character on
the live scene for a number of years. When this Bedminster
boy is not building Streetrods or stripping Lambrettas,
he can be found immersing himself in his first love -
Soul! Russ reveals this passion through singing his heart
out and giving it all he’s got at every performance.
Such warmth never fails to create a great rapport with
the crowd.

Roger Samson
The
musical brains of the outfit, ensuring the band are
not only playing the right
notes but also
that they’re
in the right order!
Rog studied music in London before touring Europe playing
the trombone. With such influences as JJ Johnson, Fred
Wesley and
the Godfather…Rog IS funk
through and through, his big personality is ever present on stage
as he busts some master moves!
|
Jonny Ley
With 10 years
under his belt as the guitarist for The Suspects and still the
youngest member of the band, Jonny is well aware
of his place - at the back, keeping the groove for the guys in
the front to play on! When he’s not getting his kicks from
rescuing cats from trees, Jonny thrives on the buzz the band
receives from their ever-lively local following!

Still
unsure of where Andy's roots lay, all we know is he's content living life in the
upper register…Screamin’ high notes that always satisfy!!!

John
Richards
John,
aka Keys, is never one to steal the limelight, more than happy
to sit on the beat and build the groove on
the 88’s.
Keys also acts as head of security!

Keith Morgan
A
Bristol boy born and bred, Keith plays sax in several local outfits
including Fatman Swings and the Andy Hague Big Band.
A talented ‘jazzer’ who’s played for TV and
Radio, theatre shows and has travelled the world working as a
ship's musician. In 2001 he toured the UK with a rousing soul
musical written by Kwame Kwei-Armah, featuring soul diva Ruby
Turner.

Farren Glasspool
He sits at the back and keeps the train on the tracks, or in other
words keeps the beat moving.
As the new boy of the band, Farran became the regular drummer about
a year ago. The big man says the powerful sound that The Suspects
deliver is a great feeling!
